[B] RAVE - Bands Rock Against Violence events

These unique events were set up to get the message out into pubs and band venues – that violence against women is NOT okay.

Our first [B] RAVE event took place on 25th November 2008 and raised money for The Salvation Army and White Ribbon Day. We had over 250 people come along so we also raised a lot of awareness towards stopping violence!

We had Jason Johnson from Essendon Football Club speak out about domestic violence to women as well as JD from "So you think You Can Dance" and our Ambassador Daniel Chante. The event was MC'd by comedian Des Dowling.

2009 [B]RAVE  was on  Saturday 7th November at The Esplanade Hotel in St Kilda. 350 people attended and raised money for White Ribbon Day.

Electric Mary headlined the event and we had guest speaker Jane Ashton at this event telling the moving story of her twin sister Julie Ramage – who was killed by her estranged husband in 2003.

2010 [B]RAVE was held on Friday 26th November at The barley Corn Hotel it was a great night. Gasoline INC, Tania Doko, Adam Toms and other bands performed.

2011 [B]RAVE will be Friday 25th November at The Transport Bar @ Federation Square in the CBD. Reckless, Time Unlimted will perform.
